euthanasia May 2, 2000 UNION OF ORTHODOX JEWISH CONGREGATIONS TESTIFIES IN SENATE AGAINST ASSISTED SUICIDE AND FOR PAIN RELIEF Today, the Union of Jewish-Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America w feverish present testimony to the U.S. Senate terrace Committee in a hearing on the disquiet Relief Promotion Act - a measure that would stringently limit physician assisted suicide while promoting more than aggressive treatment of pain in chronically ill persons. The testimony will be delivered by Rabbi J. David Bleich - a professor of Jewish Law at Yeshiva Universitys rabbinical seminary and a law professor at Yeshivas Cardozo Law School.
"PRPA" will produce additional protections under the law for physicians who use controlled substances to relieve patients organic pain.
